Meetings:
Meetings are held the every other Tuesday, starting August 28th at 5:00 PM in Robinson Hall in Room 106.

Goals:
To promote the educational advancement of veterinary technicians; enhance knowledge and skills through continuing education programs; promote and maintain a good professional image and high ethical standards; promote progressive and humane medical care for all creatures; promote and maintain a cooperative professional relationship with the veterinary medical profession; fundraising.

Activities:
Pet Washes to raise money for community projects, attend national CE meetings, provide grants to the program for equipment purchases.

Nursing Home and VA Hospital Visits, we take our pets and the animals from the program to visit residents in these facilities.

Expanding Your Horizons is a program to educate 7, 8 and 9th grade girls about careers available in science.

Pet First Aid Clinic is a community project that instructs people in the steps to take if their pet is injured or poisoned.

Homecoming parade and other activities across NDSU campus.

Sponsoring participants in the Little International Livestock Show which is held every Spring and is sponsored by the Saddle and Sirloin club.

Inviting guest speakers in to speak on a variety of topics.

Membership Requirements:
Anyone interested in the health and well-being of animals.

How to Join:

  • You can be a member of the club even if you can’t make it to all the meetings
  • If you can’t make it to a meeting there is a calendar with the events for the month by the calk board in Robinson hall or you can e-mail one of the officers if you would have questions
  • If you want to be a member please pay Rachel Fritz the $5 dollars for club dues to join

Meetings:
- Next meeting March 25th – watch for signs in Robinson
- Other meeting dates: April 22nd
- We will only be having a meeting once a month that’s only 4 meetings this year so please try to make it!

Fun Nights
- This year we are trying something different, we are going to have a fun night were we will get together and do something fun!!
Schedule for Fun Nights:
-February 12th is our first fun night- we are having a chili pot luck and making Valentine day cards! There is a sign up sheet by the chalk board in Robinson to bring food, and if you have anything that you would like to bring to make/decorate cards bring it along!
- March 11th we will be having a Pre-P Party for everyone to get to know each other
- April 8th we can do anything- have a movie night, game night, or an Easter egg hunt. If you have any suggestions feel free to e-mail one of the officers and let them know!

Also, you get hours for coming to these fun night events! It’s a fun and easy way to get hours for the Florida trip!! ?

February 9th- Pet Wash
- This is held on a Saturday from 8am- 5pm and we make appointments for dogs and sometimes cats to in and get a bath, nail trim, anal sacs, teeth brushing and all this money goes to the club.
- You can be on the committee, this is a great way to meet people and make new friends- there is a sign up sheet by chalk board in Robinson hall
- If you want to come and help, this is a great way for you Pre-Ps to learn some new and interesting things and also get to know the P1’s and P2’s! There is a sign up sheet by the chalk board
- This is an easy way to get hours for Florida!
- There are still open spots on the sign up sheet, and we need all the help that we can get!

March 15th- Pet Wash

April 12th- Expanding Your Horizons
- This is an event held by NDSU where junior high girls who are interested in animals come and learn all about veterinary technicians.

Please put these dates on your calendars so you can help out the club!

Find Information:
- You can find out what is going on for the month on a big calendar that’s going to be on the wall by the chalk board in Robinson hall.

- Also if you ever have questions you can e-mail one of the officers.

Attend any meeting or contact an advisor. Dues are $5 for membership to the Vet Tech Club and $25 for membership to NAVTA. If interested in getting the NAVTA Journal and being eligible for the NAVTA Scholarship you must be a member of both.
